Sobre este artículo

New York: Parlor Car Publishing, 1897. Paperback. Good. "A narrative full of snap." 86, [8] p.; 19 cm. Original wrappers; plain white printed in black without illustration. First 4 and final 8 pages contain publisher's advertisements. Old Sleuth, the detective, was created in 1872 by the publisher George Munro's Sons and the author Harlan Page Halsey in the periodical Fireside Companion. This was the first detective to appear in serial publications. It expanded to include other detectives; this story features Malcolm Weir, "the great detective." The J.S. Ogilvie Publishing Company purchased the rights to the series from the Parlor Car Publishing Company later in 1897, the year this title was published. The Old Sleuth mysteries published by Parlor Car Publishing are much scarcer than those by Ogilvie. In Good Condition: spine is rubbed with loss at both ends; minor chipping along fore-edges of wrapper; lower corner of front wrapper creased with slight loss; upper corners trimmed throughout, without impact on printing; pages are browning but clean and tight.
