In 1947 Australia instituted the "assisted passage scheme" also known as Ten Pound Fare, so that people from England who fulfilled the immigration requirements could emigrate to Australia for almost nothing except for £10. This is a history of that scheme and some of the immigrants experiences. Rubbing of the book edges with tanning of the text block edges and pages.
