FIRST EDITION Since Gilmour of Mongolia died, there has been no work to equal or match his study until the issue of this work. The writer covers the mysterioius and exotic, combined with true adventure in an area off the beaten track. Well written in an autobiographical style. He covers the origin of the Krebs Expedition, the steppe, "Alpino Serai," prison life at Shin- kish, Shamans, and a host of other fascinating commentaries. A group of Danes set off in 1923 to explore the colonisation possibilities of northern Mongolia. They founded a farm and live in close co-operation with their Mongol neighbours. * .
