Appresso Michiel Bonb'ello. 1596. 12mo, 15x 9.5cm, (in 8's), [viii,(including half title and title page both with vignette devices, one being the Papal crest),[viii,(index)326p., in original limp vellum, hand lettered spine ties, bands laced over the hinges, wrinkled, bottom wrap tattered with loss on the foredge half, last blank page with ms note which is defective with text loss, slight stain on the preliminaries, two worming holes on the fore edge, text block sound, good to very good, (hm.an.ds). ~ "The Treasury of Good Health. In which is Taught the Way to Conserve Health and Prolong Life." A collection of folk remedies with hygiene and dietary suggestions. Originally published in 1586 by Italian doctor and poet, Castor Durante (1529 1590), Church Physician at the Court of Pope Sixtus V. [Ask about binding restoration costs].
