Collated complete. In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper. In the original cloth binding. Michael Ayrton was a British painter, printmaker, sculptor and novelist. His work often focused on the subjects of flight, myths, mirrors and mazes.This particular work uses a combination of five media - painting, sculpture, drawing, prose and verse - to explore the myth of Daedalus and his son Icarus, and the profound relevance to man's existence.With a foreword by Rex Warner to the beginning of the work. In the original cloth binding. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally in excellent condition with bright cloth and minor shelf wear only. Dust wrapper has the odd spot to the wrap, otherwise in very smart condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are clean and bright. The odd spotting to the first and last few leaves. Contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper. Very Good Indeed

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
