Chicago" stamped in gilt at bottom of spine. Front hinge repaired. Slight edge wear, text tanned as usual, with a couple corners chipped. Lacks front free endsheet. Also lacks portrait of the author and color frontis. "The first - and best - cowboy autobiography" (Howes), and undoubtedly one of the most important range books. This copy lacks the portrait of the author and the color frontispiece, but includes a plate of a buffalo captioned "An Ugly Predicament" and an odd advertisement on the verso of the dedication leaf for "Colgate & Co.'s Cashmere Bouquet Perfume..." opposite the first page of text.
