From more than 25 places on the Red River in five counties to Quintana on the Brazos the author has done a remarkable job of research for this second volume in his three volume project. He and his wife Iris, visited all the sites of the old ports to research this volume II resulting in the first composite work to be published on early Texas ports. Also includes extensive information on the steam boats of the early river boat era. The author was born in Berclair, Texas, joined the Naval Air Force in 1941 and served as a pilot in a squadron of Catalina PBYs. He returned to the states in 5 years a full lieutenant and received a Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with a bronze star. His wife Iris Adkins, a navy nurse nurse, illustrated this volume and its rather scarce signed.

Sinopsis

The Art of War is a Chinese military treatise that was written by Sun Tzu in the 6th century BC, during the Spring and Autumn period. Composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare, it is said to be the definitive work on military strategies and tactics of its time, and still one of the basic texts. The Art of War is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy. It has had an influence on Eastern military thinking, business tactics, and beyond.
