He became famous for his great works of French imbroglio style of play. With half titles. In uniform quarter morocco bindings over marbled boards and endpapers. Externally sound with minor shelf wear and minor rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor chipping to the head and tail of the spine, particularly to vol. III. With 'Cancelled' library bookplate to the front pastedowns, Christ Hospital Library bookplate to the verso of the front free endpapers. Library shelf number to the recto imprint pages. Discreet library imprint to the title page. Internally, the binding is generally firm. Some spotting scattered to the leaves. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
