" Peter Arthur Desmond MacCarthy/Scholae Rugbeiensis Alumno/ Studiis Galbeis/ Feliciter Coeptis/MDCCCXXX". Neat signature mark of W W Vaughan. Vol1 pp247, Vol2 247, Vol 3 pp246. French Text. Bindings little bumped at edges. All pages and illustrations in tight and clean order throughout. William Wyamar Vaughan educated at Rugby and then became Headmaster between 1921-1931. Peter Arthur Desmond MacCarthy was educated at Rugby and became a notable expert author and teacher of language, phonetics and pronunciation. An attractive pair of books with an interesting provenance.
