The dust wrapper has not been price clipped and shows the original '6s' net price - small loss to the head of the spine and to the corners. Split to the edge of the spine. Basis for the Oscar-winning 1949 film directed by Carol Reed, starring Orson Welles and Joseph Cotten.
Sinopsis
Rollo Martins' usual line is the writing of cheap paperback Westerns under the name of Buck Dexter. But when his old friend Harry Lime invites him to Vienna, he jumps at the chance. With exactly five pounds in his pocket, he arrives only just in time to make it to his friend's funeral.
