Chatto & Windus, London, 1965. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. 200 pp., coloured dustwrapper with author's photograph on the rear foldover flap. Slight edgewear and rubbing of the dustwrapper. Otherwise the book is in very good condition. The author of this book, a newspaper writer, suffered a severe stroke. In recovery he began to write again, and in the short book he describes what is like to have a stroke, and the consequences of the divorce which takes place between the victim and the world of normal life. This treatment of the subject is non-technical, and strictly subjective, and the book is set in perspective by an introduction and commentary by a medical expert. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
