Small octavo, 203pp. Tan buckram, title in black and red on spine, with title and small embellishments to front cover. No additional printings listed on copyright page. Solid text block, faint toning to edges, a few small marks to front cover, a near fine example. Previous owner's name in ink on front free endpaper. (BAL 4078) (Williams & Starrett 13). Stephen Crane was a prolific American writer during the late 19th century. Most notable for his works in the "realist" tradition, he was an inspiration for writers throughout the 20th century, including Ernest Hemingway. He lived a short life, dying at the age of 28 in 1900.
