The stunning third volume of three from pioneering Scottish architect, Colen Campbell's (1676-1729) monumental work on English architecture. The volumes were published between 1715-1725 and depicted dozens of English country houses, royal buildings and grounds designed by Inigo Jones, Christopher Wren, and Campbell himself, both in plan, section, and bird's-eye perspective. This third volume also contains layouts of grand gardens and parks. The architecture is generally characteristic of the Baroque manner of the time, at the tale end of the period. Campbell was architect to George II, Prince of Wales, and dedicated the volume to him.
