Weems was well known during the early nineteenth century as a writer of wit, though his most famous book was a biography, "The Life of George Washington", which attracted much criticism at the beginning of the new century. No name, no book-plate, etc. A clean, attractive, very good copy.. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Not Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
