Sobre este artículo

New York, NY, U.S.A.: Pantheon Books, 2002. First Edition, First Printing . Hardcover. As New/As New. WINNER of the 2002 National Book Award for Fiction. First printing in FIRST STATE dust jacket. WARNING: The first printing is a little tricky to identify, so don't make a mistake! IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO HAVE A NUMBER LINE ENDING IN 1! At the bottom of the copyright page, the TRUE first state printing has "FIRST EDITION" followed by a number line from 1-9. The second state DOES NOT HAVE "FIRST EDITION," but still has the same number line with 1 as the lowest number. Also, the first state dust jacket DOES NOT HAVE the Good Morning America sticker printed on it. This debut novel is the winner of the 2002 NATIONAL BOOK AWARD. DJ in archival mylar Broadart protector. NO remainder marks, NOT price clipped, NEVER read. Carefully wrapped in both white plain paper and bubble wrap to provide DAMAGE-FREE SHIPPING.

Sinopsis

Julia Glass is an American novelist and a painter. She was born in Boston, grew up in Lincoln, Massachusetts, attended Concord Academy and graduated from Yale. Her novel, Three Junes , won the National Book Award in 2002. This cleverly constructed debut novel is written in three parts, each set in the month of June. It is written in a flashback narrative style and tells the story of a Scottish family over a span of ten years. In the first portion we are introduced to Paul McLeod, newly widowed and traveling through Greece. Fenno, Paul’s oldest son narrates the next section, he is a gay man living in New York and so fears AIDS that he avoids intimacy altogether. The final section centers on Fern, a young woman whom Paul admired while in Greece. Glass writes with unparalleled honesty and vividly constructed scenes, making it strikingly clear that those we love are often people we may not like at certain times.
