This is from the first issue of 700 copies, with a further 300 copies issued in Britain with a cancel title leaf and altered binding in 1915. Octavo. Original blue cloth, spine and front cover lettered in gilt. With a later glassine jacket. Spine lightly sunned and nicked at ends, with slight lean. Wilson A1a.
Sinopsis
Three Lives (1909) was Gertrude Stein's first published work. The book is separated into three stories, "The Good Anna," "Melanctha," and "The Gentle Lena. " The three stories are independent of each other, but all are set in the fictional town of Bridgepoint.
