Sobre este artículo

London: Routledge, 1894. Hard Cover. (London: George Routledge and Sons 1894). SUPERBLY REBOUND BY THE FASHIONABLE BOOKBINDERS OF THE PERIOD : TRUSLOVE & HANSON OF 143 OXFORD STREET. I llustrations by J. Huyot after Maurice Leloir. Title page printed in red and black. EDITION DE LUXE limited to 750 numbered copes (and 25 un-numbered copies) this being # 750. Clean tidy copies impressively bound by and stamped Truslove and Hanson in contemporary half-burgundy morocco over dark red cloth boards, top edge gilt, spines ornately decorated in gilt with musket and cross motifs, gilt motif to front board of each volume, hand marbled end-papers. A stunning production of an uncommon limited edition. Some light spotting and joints slightly rubbed overall a VG+ set. NB: Truslove and Hanson (founded in 1893) was a minor publishing firm that also ran a number of fashionable bookshops in the West End of London. Truslove's original premises were at 143 Oxford Street (that closed in 1963) and later supplemented by a bookshop on Sloane Street (at 6B) and in Mayfair (at 14A Clifford Street). They were a distinct, upmarket quality bookshop and their bindings are greatly prized. Photographs available upon request.

Sinopsis

The Three Musketeers is a novel written by Alexandre Dumas. It recounts the adventures of a young man named d'Artagnan after he leaves home to become a guard of the musketeers. D'Artagnan is not one of the musketeers of the title, which refers to Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, three inseparable friends who live by the motto: "All for one, one for all" ("Tous pour un, un pour tous"). The story of d'Artagnan is continued in Dumas' Twenty Years After and The Vicomte de Bragelonne. The three novels are together known as the d'Artagnan Romances.
