Sobre este artículo

All edges gilt. Joints rather tender, with upper joint of volume one predictably distressed with a long split. Small chip missing from lower panel on spine of volume 1, and from upper panel on spine of volume 2. Unblemished interior. Reference: Arctic Bibliography 6118.

American polar explorer Adolphus Washington Greely (1844-1935) led a scientific expedition during the first International Polar Year (1881) that met with extreme hardship. By the time the party was rescued (in 1884!), there were only six survivors of the original 25-man crew, and one of the survivors died during the homeward journey. This account is written with the dispassion of a scientist but with the intensity of a survivor.

Sobre Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio

Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio owes its name and its inspiration to the traditional Italian studio bibliografico. These small antiquarian bookshops, typically run by individuals who combine deep scholarship with a love of the printed object, remind us that underlying the words "study" and "studio" is the Latin term for zeal and devotion, studium. Since 1993, my goal has been to match discerning collectors with extraordinary books and manuscripts.
