Slight wear to the illustration on the front board. Light scattered foxing throughout the book as usual. Overall a superior copy of book not usually found in nice condition. The "Flying Fish's" cruise alone in Antarctic waters. The illustrations by A. T. Agate, one of the expedition's artists, and after which Agate Pass, the northern boundary of Bainbridge Island, is named. The Steve Fossett copy with his bookplate. There seems to be two issues to the binding, one with gilt decorations and one without. This is the preferred issue. 1843
