Lachmu?ller, Bamberg: ., 1837 pp. xvi, 404. 8vo. 220 mm. Text in Hebrew; preface and notes in German. Johann Georg Riegler (1778-1847) was a Catholic theologian and educator. He was one of the most prolific Catholic theological writers of the 19th century. Adam Martinet (1800-date of death uncertain) was a professor in the lyceum of Bamberg. He is most famous as the author of this "Tif'eret Yisrael," or "Hebräische Chrestomathie der Biblischen und Neueren Literatur, mit Anmerkungen und Glossar" (Bamberg, 1837), in which are given selections from the writings of Rapoport, Wessely, Friedländer, and other contemporary Hebrew authors.
