Sobre este artículo
First edition. The only edition with these illustrations.
This book by the Estonian television director, puppeteer and children's writer Uno Leies (1931-1988) was illustrated by Jutta Maisaar (1929-2003), a female theater and movie artist. Mostly likely together they worked at the Estonian television. In 1970 Maisaar moved to Sweden, worked as a secretary in the Estonian Cultural Association and designed the stage for the Estonian Theater in Stockholm.
The book is from the children's collection of Inna Shmeleva (1929-2020), an artist, who studied under Ely Bielutin, the founder of The New Reality artistic academy. In 1962 Shmeleva participated in the 30th anniversary of the Moscow Union of Artist at the Central Exhibition Hall (Manège) which was severely criticized by Nikita Khrushchev. This event marked the end of the period called as the Khrushchev Thaw.
