Memoir of the important frontier photographer and painter, whose photographs taken as a member of the 1870 Hayden Expedition were some of the earliest documentation of the region now encompassed by Yellowstone National Park. Jackson (1843-1942) was nearly one hundred years old at time his autobiography was published, imposing a natural limit to the number of autographed copies available.
