Sobre este artículo
First Edition; first English translation. A very good book in a very good plus dust jacket. A handsome copy of this seminal work of post-war Germany. This very good book is clean and bright with some mild fading to the top board edge and spine, some light crimping to the spine ends, a tear running through the front paste down on the inside edge of the board (does not effect the binding), and a previous owners signature in the front free end paper. Housed in a very good plus dust jacket that is crisp and vibrant but does show some light rubbing and chipping to the spine ends, edges, and corners, a couple of short closed tears to the top spine end, and one small soiled area to the top edge of the front panel. Overall, a clean, bright, and tight copy that is not remaindered, not price clipped, and not ex-library; in archival protection.
Sinopsis
Acclaimed as the greatest German novel written since the end of World War II, The Tin Drum is the autobiography of thirty-year-old Oskar Matzerath who has lived through the long Nazi nightmare and who, as the novel begins, is being held in a mental institution. Willfully stunting his growth at three feet for many years, wielding his tin drum and piercing scream as anarchistic weapons, he provides a profound yet hilarious perspective on both German history and the human condition in the modern world.
