Sobre este artículo
A very nice first printing of the first American edition [Pantheon (New York 1962)], signed by the 1999 winner of the Nobel Prize Gunter Grass directly on the half title page. The book is in near fine condition with bumps on the spine ends, some shelf wear and a previous owner's bookplate. The book has no remainder marks, a tight and square binding, with no owner inscriptions or highlighting and no staining or marking. The dust jacket is in very good condition, price-clipped but with the proper date code 2/63 on the bottom of the front flap. The jacket has some small chips and tears and some toning on the spine. It is now protected by an archival cover which is easily removable, with no tape or adhesive used. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information concerning this important work of modern literature.
Sinopsis
Acclaimed as the greatest German novel written since the end of World War II, The Tin Drum is the autobiography of thirty-year-old Oskar Matzerath who has lived through the long Nazi nightmare and who, as the novel begins, is being held in a mental institution. Willfully stunting his growth at three feet for many years, wielding his tin drum and piercing scream as anarchistic weapons, he provides a profound yet hilarious perspective on both German history and the human condition in the modern world.
