These books served as the basis for the MGM film series starring Marjorie Main in the title role. Orig. published in 1929, this is the First Triangle Books edition from 1941 (First, thus). In 271 pp. Hardcover small 8vo has teal cloth-covered boards decorated & lettered in black. Condition is VG: very clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages off-white with significant tanning, commensurate with paper quality of the era. Former owner's name in pen to ffep; else unmarked. Modest rubbing to extremities, slightly bumped corners. Good. 8vo, rebound in full deep red leather, gilt stamped, good copy with some expert restoration to corners and spine but still showing some wear and rubbing along spine and joints. With sticker on rear pastedown from Preservation Technologies stating this was deacidified with their patented process. We purchased a large number of similarly bound Rinehart books from a local institution that was deaccessioning duplicates and were told that these were Rinehart family copies, but have no proof of this.
