Sobre este artículo
Edith Jessie Archibald (1854-1936) was born into a wealthy family in Newfoundland, Canada. Having studied at private schools in New York and London, England she went on to be known for her activism, particularly related to the suffragist movement, as well as as an author.
She began writing later in life, and wrote in a variety of genres, including pamphlets, nonfiction, fiction, and plays. The Token began as a play in the 1920s and was published as a novel in 1930. Described as "A Tale of Cape Breton Island in The Days Before Canada Became A Nation," it tells the story of Angus McRory and is set shortly after the American Civil War. This volume is in Very Good condition, with some minor wear to the covers and bumping to the corners. There is an inscription on the front fly leaf reading, "To Neil From Bill In appreciation of kindnesses rendered."
