Boston: Ticknor And Fields, 1860. 405 pp. 16 pp of advertised books for sale at conclusion of text. Brown cloth covers with faded gilt lettering on spine. Cover corners and edges are bumped and rubbed, significant scuffing and fading to cover faces, joints are worn, some soiling spots, spine is creased, spine ends are missing and there is fraying/tears. Loose hinges. Previous owner's bookplate and writing on front inside cover. Newspaper clipping discussing author's relationship to the character in the story adhered on second free endpaper with pencil note "Dec 1912" across it. Interior pages are rippled, water stain to edges, foxing spots, tanned. Book in Good- to Good condition.. Author's Edition. Hard Cover. Good. Size: Approx. 4 1/2" x 7 1/4. Fiction.
