Sobre este artículo
New York: Charles Scriber's Sons, 1917. Hardcover. Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bernard Partridge (Frontispieces). Near Fine. See images and description. Two Volumes. "Tommy & Grizel - The Novels, Tales and Sketches of J.M. Barrie", Volume I and Volume II, in the complete 1917 Scribners Edition of the 1900 Author's Edition. Two frontispiece illustrations from drawings by Bernard Partridge, both with tissue guards intact and spotless. Octavo, deep forest green finely textured cloth covered boards, gilt decoration and imprinting on front cover and spine, 545 pp (257 pp. + 288 pp. the two volume set). Near Fine; trace micro touching at some corners, small scale crimping of spine ends. Zoom on scanned images. Otherwise, flawless. The second Barrie novel about the unusual character, Sentimental Tommy, this time with his enchanted lady, Grizel, "daughter of the Painted Lady (Taliaferro)". Definitely somewhat sentimental, hence the nickname earned in the earlier novel (Sentimental Tommy), which was made into a 1921 silent drama film of that name. Not Peter pan, by any stretch, but a character quirky enough to earn this story ratings from 2 to 5 stars in about equal amounts throughout - which by itself makes any tale of some interest. Scarce and nicely decorative edition, in a condition rarely seen; striking on the shelf. Ships in a stout new box, of course. L94
