Introduction by Bing Crosby. 305 pp. with index and appendix listing of all members of both bands through the years. Profusely illustrated with vintage photos and reproductions. Fine (tasteful bookplate on front pastedown hidden by the jacket flap) in bright, very good dust jacket. A joint biography of the two brothers who were musical giants in the golden big band era, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey. Author Herb Sanford was uniquely qualified to write the tale as he first met the brothers in 1925 and became thier good friens---they clubbed around together during the Jazzz Age, broke into big time radio in the thirties, and introduced them as key sidemen in studio orchestras in Hollywood. He literally lived with Tommy and the band for three years.
