Tom, visiting adult relatives, finds companionship and entertainment after a grandfather clock inscribed with the legend, "Time no Longer," strikes 13 and he finds he can walk out into a magic garden in the past. Horn Book review, 1959, p 478: "...magical surprises and happy play in an old-time garden with a mysterious little girl -- episodes which are built up and made credible by skillfully created atmosphere and logical conditions governing time."
