Contents entirely maps in facsimile with explanitory text in blackletter, most maps (there are many) are doublespreads, we see no damage to these, to the singletons, or to the text leaves. Hinges of item have been strengthened neatly (indeed expertly) with document tape. Book itself is a 12x8.5 inch hardbound in brown papered boards under a Japanese-vellum backstrip which has a red label gilt-lettered and -ruled. General good shape: top rim has tiny tears, looks mildly ragged; tail-rim and spine panel are rumpled; the new hinges are obviously new but of good workmanship; we see no markings or soil, this strengthened item makes excellent renderings readily handleable.
