Alice Henry (1857-1943) was an Australian journalist and women's rights advocate who for 20 years wrote for the Argus and the Australasian on progressive issues. Born in Melbourne, she came to the U.S. in 1905 and went to work for the National Women's Trade Union League of America as editor of "Life and Labor". This book examines the history of women's labor organization and the relationship of working-class women to the campaign for woman suffrage. Very light offsetting to ffep otherwise a clean copy with no marks in book, binding tight. Covers show very minor shelf wear, gilt lettering bright. Book condition VG+.
