Sobre este artículo
London: Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1979. First Paperback Printing . Trade Paperback. Near Fine. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2. 253 Pages Indexed. Tight square book with some stamped numbers on the bottom page edges and a penciled price on the front endpaper. No other defects noted. Interior text is faultless. Three black and white photo sections of about 20 pages each. The country craftsman was, until recently, an essential member of every rural community. He looked no further than the bounds of his own village or locality for his livelihood and was often carrying on a tradition which went back more than a thousand years. This valuable history of those various crafts and skills has now been thoroughly revised and extended to include much new material. The text is illustrated with photographs and line drawings which show the processes and tools used. This book will become an essential tool for the student of rural life if only for its illustrations (there are well over 200 of these. But its clear and interestingly written text is likely to win for it a place among the standard works on a subject that has great importance in the history of the British countryside.
