Pamphlet circa 1809. The wreck of the HMS Centaur in September, 1782 is a famous event with many accounts. The Centaur left Jamaica for England and sank in a hurricane. The survivors drifted for 16 days before arriving in the Azores. Twelve survived while 400 were lost. Pamphlets of this type were sometimes sold separately and sometimes bound in volumes. This item appears disbound from a larger volume but may still be regarded as complete. There is a note at bottom of page 2 "3d Ed. 17,000" making this a later printing. WorldCat locates 1 copy but it is from a different publisher. See OCLC: 751357712. Condition is Good: disbound from larger volume. Closed tear affecting pages 1-2 (see image). Paginates: (1)-12.
