Presentation copy from the illustrator, inscribed in pencil on the blank preceding the half-title page: Athene & Bean with love from Paul & Margaret - Semptember [sic] 1928". With the ownership inscription of the presentees on the front free endpaper. Loosely inserted are the remains of the dustwrapper. Following the text there are 5 pages of b & w illustrations by Paul Nash, 3 full-page, which in turn are followed by 5 color plates by him with loose, unprinted tissue guards. Cloth-backed boards. 91 page preface by Harley Granville-Barker. Printed at the Shakespeare Head Press under the direction of B.H. Newdigate. Front hinge cracked, spine worn, otherwise good. ; The Players' Shakespeare ; Large Quarto; 110 pages .
