Sobre este artículo

St. Paul, Minnesota: Closet Case Books, 2002. Fine condition. A bright, shiny, clean copy. The spine is tight and flat, with NO creases. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT price clipped ($15.95). Softcover. 5.25" wide by 8.25" tall. This novel about an aspiring drag queen was the GRAND PRIZE WINNER in Writer's Digest competition for self-published books. Bound in the original pictorial wraps handsomely illustrated with a cover painting by Patricia Rieger. From the rear cover: "Like many gay sixteen-year-olds, Erick Taylor dreams of being a star. The only problem is that he is unpopular, stuck in Catholic school, and has parents who, in their own desperate search for sainthood, fail to see their son is on a path toward self-destruction. Unable to face his tormentors at school, unsure of whether he wants to live or not, Erick meets Chloe, a twenty-six-year-old self-proclaimed 'grandiloquist' drag queen. With a glam rock make-over and a pair of platform shoes, Erick finds the courage to out himself, erasing his former identity and leaping blindly into Minneapolis' gay nightlife. With exhilarating style and dark wit, Joe Babcock paints a provocative, devastating portrait of what it is like to grow up queer in America.". First Edition (so stated). Softcover. Fine condition. Illus. by Rieger, Patricia (cover art). (viii), 357pp.

Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
