Sobre este artículo

New Haven: Yale University Press, 1931. Roerich's account of his father's expedition, which concentrated on making a pictorial record of the largely unsurveyed area, includng parts of Tibet, Mongolia, and the Gobi Desert, via the elder Roerich's painting skills as well as photography; investigating archaeological sites for potential exploration; and acquiring ethnographic objects and lingustic data, for which the younger Roerich was well-educated. Hardcover in jacket, as pictured. Laid in are a slip from the publisher noting the book's status as the 14th book published with funds from the Philip Hamilton McMillan fund, and a post-card from the Roerich Museum featuring a color image of a painting with a note of thanks from Sarah Ross to Mrs. Bradley - both the Rosses & Bradleys were Madison (Wisconsin) families of some note. Very light wear to book, but a couple of tanned areas to the spine; jacket rubbed & heavily chipped, with large areas of loss to the spine ends & upper rear panel, with loss of titling, but not descriptive text; minor foxing near a few plates. Text clean; xx, 504 pages; index, 152 b/w photos, reproductions of Roerich's paintings, one figure; folding map - all present as called for. . First American Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. Illus. by Nicholas Roerich. Large Octavo.
