This is an apparent reissue with a twist of original title by the publisher of the 1869 Women of New York or the Under-world of a Great City by Ellington - a pseudonym according to OCLC, possibly for James Dabney McCabe in the opinion of one scholar (citation on request). Ink owner's name to the front free end paper and also the second page of text. Another name scribbled out in ink to the ffep. The outer tip of page 113/4 has been torn away and this affects a couple of lines of numbers. Light browning throughout, some spotting. Ink and pencil writing to the rear end papers. Foreword by John F Hines, President Located in Springfield, Massachusetts, American International College (AIC) was founded in 1885 as the French Protestant College. In 1892, it became the first college in New England to admit women. Covered with a glassine or wax paper wrapper which has kept this slim volume in great condition. Pencilled price on fep. Some light soil to edges underneath wrapper and a small publisher's blemish (a small raised area) on front cover. The glassine wrapper has tears, chipping and some foxing on top front. Cloth bound black hardcover with orange titles on the cover. There is little wear to cover and little tanning to pages. We noted a couple of very small spots on end papers. Front end page has owner's name written in ink and pencilled price. This book does contain some autographs and inscriptions. We also noted that the bottom corner of page 25/26 has had the last photograph cut out of page 25. A black and white photocopy (this is of the yearbook's former owner) replaced the photograph on page 26, but this has left one photograph from page 25 missing. 101 pages including a section of vintage advertisements.
