Sobre este artículo

London: William Tegg, 1868. Full-Leather. Near Fine. Two volumes, 8to., xxiv(1)427pp; (5)430pp. Sharp Eighth Edition, beautifully bound by Bickers & Son in contemporary full green calf, gilt ruled, raised spine bands with compartments decorated in in gilt in four compartments. Titles in gilt upon red leather labels in two compartments. Marbled fore-edges and endpapers. Illustrated with 37 black and white engravings, with the majority by Phiz. Very well-preserved set. Square, tight and generally clean throughout with little or no toning. A few errant spot on one or two prelims only. or foxing. Some quite mild rubbing and edge-wear. Some wear to bottom tips. Joints strong. Written reference number and stamp in red of the Kansas City, MO, Public Library on the table of contents in each volume but not other markings. The set was likely a non-circulating rare book acquisition. From the library of noted New Jersey Irish-Ameican author, collector and professor of Irish history and literature, Tom Fox, with his unobtrusive blind-stamp on the title page. Fox was called by Nicholas Basbanes, ",,, a kindred spirit...assembler of an uncommonly distinctive collection of Irish history and literature". A most handsome, collectable set. Please note: International and Priority orders will require additional postage.
