Excellent work, great detail covers the City of Eternal Peace, the T'ai Ming T'a, by river to Chien Ch'ang Ying, west to Ho To Hata, brigand country, region of the Ao Han Banner, across the desert to Hsiang Shui, Lama Temples, lonely way to K'u Lu Kou, with the Mongols of K'u Lu Ch'i, Ch'ao Yang Fu and its old pagodas & other notes on his trek. * Fascinating primary source, profusely illustrated by the author's photos, covers his third trip beyond the Wall followed routes suggested by Wingate, had of British Intelligence in China. These had not been mapped so Hedley took a surveyor with him and left his Bible tracts behind...fascinating. * .
