Inscribed and signed on title page: "Blanche - When you finish reading this, I will come to visit Marcus Bookstore! / Kofi, 14/7/89." Marcus Bookstore in San Francisco, founded in 1960, is the oldest bookstore devoted entirely to black history. Blanche Richardson is the store manager and daughter of the store's founders, Drs. Raye and Julian Richardson.
