Black cloth boards with bright gilt title to front cover and spine. Bottom of front board has a bump, spine tips a little rubbed. Interior front hinge just starting, old neat owner inscript, paper a little browned, intro has some light pencil underlining, one page has an old tape repair in the margin, but otherwise a neat and presentable copy. First published in 1885, this is the first US edition, I believe. "Of the fifty translations ... Thirty-three originally appeared in the Journal of the Asiatic society of Bengal, in the years 1877, 1878, and 1881"--Preface. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 142 pages .
