this edition (first with Lawrence introduction) published January 1921; this set is a reprint dated September 1921, described on dust jacket as 'second edition of the re-issue; 2 vols, hardbacks in green cloth board covers with gilt lettering and motifs and with gilding to upper text blocks , 623 + 690 pages | portrait frontis. in vol 1; maps, plans, collotype plates etc, all as per original 1888 edition; large cloth-backed folding map in pocket at rear of vol 1 | both volumes are sound and square; covers show moderate shelf wear with heavier wear at edges and some fading ; spines frayed at head and tail, but not such as to affect spine function | vol 1 front endpaper split at hinges, others are intact; both volumes free of names, inscriptions etc, | dust jacket fragment survives | along with a reproduction of the author's portrait, 15 x 20 cms approx, with inscription on back, dated 1922 | carefully packaged and dispatched from UK within two working days
