Slight stain to upper cover (cloth, midsection); slight rubbing to covers (leather over cloth; chiefly to edges); previous owner's rubberstamp on front attached endpaper; slight warp to free endpapers (at foredges); slight internal browning to edges. [4], 218 pages. Collection of 10 essays (in a more or less philosophical vein) by the noted Belgian playwright; '[r]eprinted from the translation of Mr Alfred Sutro by permission of Mr George Allen' (opposite title page). Bound in 3/4 dark blue polished calf over blue cloth, gilt-stamped and ruled spine with partly raised bands, light blue marbled endpapers, t.e.g., remaining edges untrimmed.Title Page (red/black).
