Sobre este artículo
Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1889. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 7.5" by 5.5". Not Stated. A first edition copy of this treasury of English lyrical poetry, smartly bound in a quarter paper vellum binding. The first edition of this work in a quarter paper vellum binding, with gilt detailing to the spine. Francis Turner Palgrave (1824-1897) was a British writer who published both criticism and poetry, but his work as a critic was more important. He contributed to the development of literary taste with a number of poetry anthologies. This is one of his poetry anthologies, with a particular focus on religious poetry, selecting from four centuries of English lyrical poetry. Poets include Edmund Spenser, William Wordsworth, George Herbert, and Alfred, Lord Tennyson. In a quarter paper vellum binding. Externally generally smart, with small marks to the boards. Front board is slightly bowed. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for a little offsetting to the end papers. Very Good
