Second Edition of what Henrey describes as the most important and influential work on viticulture published in England in the eighteenth century (first published in quarto format in 1790). The author was gardener to William Henry Cavendish Bentinck, third Duke of Portland on his estate of Welbeck Abbey in Nottinghamshire. Included here are descriptions of fifty types of grapes, selected from the over one hundred varieties grown at Welbeck. Gabler 37900.
