Very informative book on marine surveying , first edition with pasted in declaration at end of preface stating that extensive extracts fron Mr Simm's treatise on mathematical instruments because of copyright can only be used in this edition by arrangement with Mr Simms. 165 pages plus16 pages contents and preface plus 77 pages of tables and 7 pull out plans and maps at rear all in clean condition just some light browning to edges of pages due to quality of paper used, Neat inscription on first blank page The Geological Society from .....Simms Dec 7th 1864 believed to be F W Simms the writer of Treatise on Mathematical Instruments but cannot be sure. Geological Society library regulations pasted on inside front board, sticker presented to the Geological Society pasted on rear of title page, Geological Society stamps to blank rear of 7 foldouts, NO dustwrapper, outer boards are a little worn on edgesand slightly faded on spine and top edges of boards.A nice example of this book SEE IMAGES.
