Some foxing; intermittent heavy browning, previous owner's inscription crossed out on title-pages; old inkstamp "Matlock" on title-pages. Very rarely a contemporary manuscript citation discreetly added in the margin. Bindings rubbed, but sound. The first edition is rarely seen in the trade. ESTC T107636.
