Boards were originally dark red, front cover and spine have faded to light brown. Some spotting on front cover. Mild 1/4 inch splits on bottom spine edge. Binding is slightly shaken but still tight. Front hinge has a few small cracks, back hinge is perfect. Name on title page - Charles Deming, New York 1844. Pages are clean and unmarked, no foxing. Very nice copy. Translated by T. Smith, re-edited and amended by Rev. G. Jekyll.
