Sobre este artículo

London: William Hodge, 1948. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 8.5" by 5.5". Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The first edition of this account of the trials of Oscar Wilde, edited by H. Montgomery Hyde, in the very scarce original dust wrapper. The first edition. Illustrated by a frontispiece portrait of Oscar Wilde during the trails by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and 15 illustrations over 8 plates. Collated complete. In the publisher's original cloth with the very scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. This work has been edited with an introduction by H. Montgomery Hyde and a foreword by Sir Travers Humphreys. Oscar Wilde, best known for his work 'The Picture of Dorian Gray', was put on trail for gross indecency and later sentenced to imprisonment. This work provides an account of the trails of Oscar Wilde, including the transcripts, descriptions of the evidence and artwork of the trails. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with only slight bumping to the tail of the spine. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown with spotting and an old ink inscription to the end end papers. The wrap is generally smart with sunning to the spine and extremities, handling marks, spotting and minor chipping and closed tears to the head of the spine. Spotting to the verso. Internally firmly bound with slight age toning and the odd spot to the pages. Near Fine
